For the Pharmacist

Pharmacists receive requests for VanicreamTM Skin Cream and other PSITM products from basically two sources:

1. Patients, who request our products upon recommendation by a physician, pharmacist, nurse or other health professional, or another patient or parent of a patient. Physicians, especially dermatologists, allergists, and pediatricians recommend PSI™ products when they want to avoid problematic ingredients such as fragrances, dyes, lanolin, parabens, formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasing preservatives, or certain other chemicals.

2. Physicians' prescriptions where VanicreamTM Skin Cream, in particular, is prescribed as the compounding base for a drug or chemical for topical application. Physicians and pharmacists choose VanicreamTM Skin Cream as a base for a variety of reasons including the following:
   • To avoid common chemical irritants.
   • It is compatible with a wide range of drugs and chemicals.
   • It is easy to use for compounding, i.e., (1) it is not thick and greasy like some bases, (2) it is easily cleaned from compounding equipment, and (3) it is easy to package.
   • It is economical and provides good value to both the pharmacist and the patient.

Many pharmacists choose to compound topical prescriptions using VanicreamTM Skin Cream when the prescriber has not specified a particular vehicle. PSITM packages the product in 40 lb. plastic pails for sale to pharmacists who compound a significant volume and would prefer a bulk package.
